I decided to take it back a bit and focus on the primary concept of this ensemble: its youthful energy. I don’t look 22; I look 16, and ya know what? I could care less. That day, i did some reflecting and I decided to get in touch with something I had taken advantage of for so long: my youth. That day, I discovered that the world was my playground, full of endless opportunities waiting for me to grab. I had been feeling dissatisfied all around, so I decided to take the time to dig deep inside of myself and find what it was that truly made me happy. In the simplest terms, being who I am makes me happy. I have a purpose, as we all do. At times, I fall victim to the carnal mindset and I begin to focus on things that I shouldn’t. I become weak, and then I become insecure. I question my dreams, thoughts, and beliefs and ask myself why am I even pursuing this thing that I love in the first place. But there was my answer: love. I love it. Some people aren’t blessed to sense the beauty in simple things such as trees, sunshine, and nature’s bittersweet fragrance, and there I was, moping about how I’m not in someone else’s shoes. I prayed, got it together, and embraced my dream; I embraced my purpose that day. I hope this inspires someone.

Okay, so let me tell you something! I’m not one to do item reviews very often, but this new Zelie for She Naughty or Nice collection is on point! Not only are these clothes super trendy and sexy, but the models are bad-ass! They totally rocked it! I love brands that portray curvy women as the beautiful and sexy beings they are. I’m so sick of people treating us like we need to be covered in dashikis, big tees, and sweats all day. Sorry; that’s not happening, and thanks Zelie for She for showing the world that curvy women are setting the scene left and right! When I tell y’all, I cannot wait until payday, I mean that with my whole heart and soul. I’m so ready for some high end wardrobe sprucing! But anyways, don’t let me talk you to death! Peep some of the looks from the latest collection and be sure to visit ZelieForShe.com! (Shown: Secret Garden Skirt. Photo Courtesy of Zelie for She.)

You’re probably expecting me to wow you with some spectacular occasion that erupted today, but no. I was just on my lunch break, and this whimsical smirk simply means that I am feeling peaceful and content. Occasionally, I like to just prance around and enjoy the scenery. I can really appreciate nice trees, fine bricks, cobblestone, a coffee drink (of course), and fresh air. Ah! The simple joys of simple things. Today I decided to go for cute, comfy, and authentic. On October 20, 2013, I had the pleasure of attending POSH LAFW as a blogger! I never gave you all the deets, so I thought it would be perfect for a fab Throwback Thursday! The event was a blast, and I mean seriously, there were nothing but strong, independent business women in the entire room! I’m talking high fashion icons with curves and class! But anyways, don’t let me talk you to death (because I will); indulge in this fashionable ambiance!

Knock me off of my feet, why don’t you! I seriously adore artists who are so meticulous when it comes to the curves on a woman’s body. To get every inch and curve down to the wire not only shows their admiration but it tells us how much they pay attention. I love that! I can always appreciate any artist who dedicates a portion of their craft to the beauty and irresistible nature of a voluptuous, curvy woman. I mean, we are queens, aren’t we?! Feed your souls with this beautiful artwork, and be sure to catch some of my art features on TheCurvyFashionista.com as well!

Okay, So I’ve been in contact with a merchandiser from I’M CURVY Clothing and I won’t spill too many deets, but what I will say is that there are some exciting ventures in store! In the meantime, let me share my wardrobe wish list with you! I’M CURVY has just released some haute items that I’m totally in love with! I’m always down for a little self pampering via wardrobe sprucing, and I’m super pumped to treat myself to a shopping spree for the Holidays!

It’s warm, and I understand that. But wearing a thousand layers and baggy clothes to “hide your fat” this fall is not where it’s at. If you thought of wearing those super baggy clothes in public, you better think twice and get it together! Stop hiding those curves! Yes, we are bigger than most! And yes, we may have an extra roll, tummy, or fat here and there but is that an excuse to look a mess? Absolutely not. You have every right to be cute. You are beautiful and you have curves, so work the hell out of them! If you continue to demote yourself by hiding under those big clothes, then so will everyone else. You can be warm, but don’t be afraid to be fly! For those of you who like to hide specific body parts, here’s a little help to kick off this season with some great wardrobe sprucing!
WANT TO HIDE YOUR TUMMY? SPLURGE ON LOOSE PRINTS TO TAKE AWAY ATTENTION FROM YOUR CORE!
HATE YOUR THIGHS? GIVE THEM A SLIMMING EFFECT IN CONTRAST LEGGINGS!

HATE YOUR RUMP SHAKER? GRAB THE PERFECT HI-LO-TOP TO ACCENTUATE IT WITH PROPORTION! (I honestly did not want to include this tip! If you have a REAL ASS, why hide it?! Flaunt it! But don’t let me run my mouth too much… if you insist, here’s a little something to get you going!)

“I had a troubled childhood. I had to deal with being bullied everyday at school and being abused verbally, physically, and emotionally everyday at home. I was a very quiet and shy girl growing up. I had low self esteem, no confidence, and just thought I was fat and ugly from being told that everyday. Until one day I decided to speak up! I decided that I did not want to be bullied or abused anymore. And after the day I spoke up, I actually started to live!” -Brittni Christine Continue reading »

I know I’ve been running my mouth about sprucing up my wardrobe this fall, so I thought I’d help some of you all by showing you something that I pieced together last fall! This is an ensemble I wore during a chilly night out with my boyfriend last Fall in Norfolk, Virginia. Something amazing I learned while in college is that “designer looks” don’t have to be so pricey all the time.
